We recognize that you are looking for an insurer with financial strength, stability, and a solid reputation. Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. is rated A by A.M. Best. It is a subsidiary of Beazley Group, which was founded in 1986. Since then, the company has steadily expanded its scope in terms of products offered and markets served, and currently writes more than $1.7 billion in annual premiums through its global operations. Beazley Group was named Company of the Year at the Insurance Day London Market Awards in December 2011. This prestigious honor is bestowed annually to a London-based insurance company that demonstrates profitability, growth and market leadership. We are proud to be part of this global powerhouse with a history of success launching new strategies.

Q: What products does Beazley offer?

A: Beazley offers a suite of gap protection products that help cover expenses, protect assets, fill gaps or replace income - all offered employer-paid, employee-paid (voluntary) or a combination of the two. Products include:

  • Critical Illness
  • Supplemental Medical (out-of-pocket)
  • Limited Medical (fixed indemnity)
  • Short Duration Disability
  • Short Term Disability
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Benefits and range of options may vary by state. Premium will vary based on plan chosen. A waiting period for late entrants may apply. These policies are renewable at the option of the company.

The Critical Illness plan is a limited policy. The Critical Illness product is filed as a Non-Participating Specified Disease in North Carolina. The Portability benefit is filed as Continuation of Coverage in Oregon.

The Supplemental Medical Expense (out-of-pocket) plan is not a major medical plan and is not intended to cover medical expenses. This product is available if an employer has a major medical plan in place.

Q: Why offer gap protection products for your employees?

A: In an attempt to stem rising health care costs, some employers are turning to lower-cost alternatives, such as high-deductible plans and health savings accounts. As a result, employees are taking on more responsibility for their own health care costs. On the positive side, this helps them to become wiser health care consumers. But it also creates the potential for significant financial consequences. An unexpected life crisis - a job loss, critical illness or disabling injury, etc. - could put their income and assets at risk. In fact, statistics show that the majority of personal bankruptcies are due to medical expenses, even for those with health care coverage in place (Medical Bankruptcy in the United States, American Journal of Medicine, 2007).

Q: Why work with Beazley?

A: At a time of uncertainty in the marketplace, many employers are evaluating their options and looking for affordable ways to modify or evolve their benefit programs. We are dedicated to helping you and your employees address uncertainty and fill gaps. Our suite of gap protection products provides you with flexible and cost-effective benefit options that help your employees offset expenses or replace lost income - just when it is needed most. Each product includes benefit options with flexible benefit amounts. You may fully fund any of these products or offer them on a voluntary basis. Or, you may provide a combination of the two, enabling employees to buy-up additional amounts beyond employer-paid coverage amounts.
